Hailing from Odessa, this Ukrainian project is a new signature on Pricosnovenie ! The title of the album is the Ukrainian translation of Prikosnovenie, which means "the soft touch"! I think it's a very good description and perception of their typical ballad style! It all sounds like a kind of local folk genre that has been composed with different acoustic instruments like piano, guitar, flute, cello etc... 2 female vocalist add a very own and 2-sided accent the music, which seems like constantly moving between pure reverie and melancholia! There's for sure a neoclassical impression as well that has been recovered from a very personal pop interpretation and that reminds me vaguely of the work of A. Branduardi! You can feel a strong and meaningful emotional content rising from several songs and especially from the vocalists. The "Carrousel" - song is undoubtedly one of the most refined and sweetest examples of this voyage through the Ukrainian landscapes. This is a typical release in the Prikosnovenie - catalogue, showing the increasing interest of owner Frederic Chaplain for world music!
